Civil War Road Scholars Program Coming in October 2014
St. Charles Community College is coordinating a Road Scholar event, “A Divided State: The Civil War in Missouri,” this coming Fall 2014. Participants will take part in a week of field trips to important battle sites and significant places where the Civil War left its mark on Missouri. Along for the ride will be local Civil War authors sharing stories and expertise, including Executive Director of Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation, Gregory Wolk, author of Friend and Foe Alike: A Tour Guide to Missouri’s Civil War. Stops include places such as Fort Davidson, the Missouri Civil War Museum, and White Have, home of Ulysses S. Grant. Among the activities scheduled are a Civil War Trivia Night and an authentic Civil War-era meal in Jefferson City.
“A Divided State: The Civil War in Missouri” will take place October 5-11, 2014. To find out more information or to register for the program, click HERE.
