Missouri's Civil War Heritage Foundation Auxvasse's Elijah Gates Camp 570 Recognized - Missouri's Civil War Heritage Foundation

The Missouri Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans named the Auxvasse-based Elijah Gates Camp 570 best camp and recognized Gates Camp member Charles (Don) Ernst with the Col. Joseph C. Porter Award for outstanding service.

The recognition is well-deserved after the group saw two major achievements during 2014: the research, finding, and dedication of the mass grave at the Battle of Moore’s Mill, and the establishment of the camp’s permanent headquarters. Click the link below to read more:
